I've added a few goodies and whatnot here for you all. Some concept art, some finished maps, anything that I feel adds to the great story of the Prophets of Camilla. (Just click on the pictures to see them in a larger window.)
Maps:
Majesty: The Eternal King follows a story that takes place on two continents on the planet known as Camilla. The continent to the west—slightly less mystical or fantastical than the eastern continent—is known as Sanithus. Split into six major regions, Sanithus is home to the two most powerful Kingdoms in all of Camilla—the Castletowns of Magdeline, in the south, and Empyrion, in the north. Magdeline is home of the protagonist of Majesty, and the region around Magdeline is known as Caliber Fields.
If one finds the safety and serenity of the rolling green hills of Caliber a bit too boring, they only need travel the day's journey by foot to the north into the Serpent Range. A deathly snow packed barrier of mountains, the Serpent Range has only one refuge, the lone township of Venom. Magdeline in the south was chosen by the kings of old to sit beyond the furthest reaches of the Serpent Range, strategy would be their biggest ally in the south and the frozen peaks of the Serpent Range would be their most valuable weapon.
North of the Serpent Range lies the sight of the AMW; the land wherein is hidden the fountain of youth. A great a terrible force was witnessed here once by the mortals, creating the great chasm that stretches across the mid-section of the Vastlands. Ultimately a massive bridge was built to span the gap of the Chasm, and the mortals would later inhabit this very bridge, creating the city of Brigton. The Vastlands stretch an entire day's journey by horseback, leaving only the sight of dust and dried brown grasses. This region of mystery and land of the brigands, giving birth to the Vastlands, is known as Lilidel.
Far in the eastern reaches of Lilidel lies one of my favorite places in all of the story of Majesty. Rhiannon is a very ancient kingdom, older than Magdeline. The entire area is reminiscent of Feudal Japan. Samurais and Ninja are often seen in this place. This is also where the eternal waters drain into the ocean to the east beyond Rhiannon. So much of the main story takes place in this region, especially in the first book. The forests are thicker here, the air is so much more moist and heavy. Indigo and teal pits of light glow from unknown sources all throughout the kingdom. This map is slightly closer to the land, so there is more detail.
A nice little doodle of the main courtyard of Castletown Empyrion, far to the north in the thickets of Ascencia.
I recently acquired a buaetiful little Bamboo Capture Wacom Tablet, allowing me much more freedom to realize the pictures in my mindscape. Check out my first test painting of Evril Crescens, the fire-starter from the north.
The final chamber in the Crescens-Brangwyn crest labyrinth, a gauntlet that exists only to test the young September Brangwyn's personal will and devotion to his father. After passing through the chambers of love, rage, stress, cherish, September steps in a blackness and in the distance he sees a bridge of cherry blossom trees sprout from the nothingness below. The trees are dark, besides their leaves and flowers, and they shed a hint of gold in their bark, and at the end of the tangled bridge September could see the Brangwyn family crest fastened aloft a reverse sided set of doors.
